Marysville Amenities

The new Marysville Amenities building was built to replace the original amenities building that burnt down in the 2009 Black Saturday Fires. The new amenities building is rated to a Bushfire Attack level of BAL-29. The building is naturally ventilated, utilising stainless steel mesh to provide daylight and ventilation to the building interior. Large gates at the front of the building can be closed to seal the building against bushfire.

The architecture has some correspondence with the adjacent Rebuilding Advisory Centre where the refined and rustic were combined to contribute a public building that responds to the tone of its specific location. A structural timber colonnade supports a butterfly roof that falls to a 20,000-litre water tank. Collected water is used for toilet flushing.
